Full-time Positions
Program Assistant –
Pay Rate:$8.00 to $10.00 per hour / no benefits (negotiable with experience) Hours: 20-29 hours / M-F afternoons and evenings / some weekends Education: BS/BA in related field or at minimum experience of 5 years working in area. Skills: Antelope Valley residency, a valid CA driver’s license, good driving record, meet state required automobile insurance minimums and use of a car. Ability to supervise and manage staff members. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the BGCofAV Planning Process and operations. Well organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Windows. Ability to maintain documentation, reports and other vital information necessary for program success. CPR Certification (Adult, Child, Infant) preferred, or attend and successfully complete certification within first six months of employment. Bi-lingual desired. Experience: Experience working in community based non-profit organizations and its community members. Experience with children, ages 6-18 years is required. Part-time Positions
Program Assistant –Education -
Pay Rate:$8.00 - $10.00 per hour/ Hours: 20-29 / M-F / 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Education: At least three years of post-secondary education and work experience in the education/computer field. Skills: Microsoft Word required. Knowledge of Power Point, Excel and Dream weaver preferred. Must have a special interest in informal learning environments and the use of computers and other non-traditional educational activities as a creative and empowering tool Must be an excellent organizer, manager, and team-builder. Experience: This person should be at least 21 years old and possess a variety of experiences working with youth. Must have one-two years experience working with computers and computer education Ability to work closely with youth ages 6-18 years old in an education support capacity including homework assistance, educational games and activities and any other education related programming CPR Certification (Adult, Child, Infant) preferred, or attend and successfully complete certification within first six months of employment. Games Room Supervisor - Education: Job Summary: Plans, organizes, and implements programs/activities in the games room. High school diploma or equivalency. Skills: This individual should demonstrate a willingness to work with youth of ethnically diverse backgrounds. Have an understanding of developmental characteristics of youth ages 6-17. Be self-motivated, creative, energetic, and spontaneous. Good communications skills, written and verbal. CPR Certification (Adult, Child, Infant) preferred, or attend and successfully complete certification within first six months of employment. Must have reliable car, valid driver’s license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums preferred. Experience: At least 10 classroom hours of child development training.
